I’m excited to be part of the second annual Alaska Summit featuring Google for Education! I’ll be presenting twice:
1. Tuesday, July 28 – 2:30pm – 3:30pm: “20 Ways to Use Google Apps in the Classroom” Room 110
DESCRIPTION
Ideas for using and getting started with Google Apps in class. Demonstrations, discussion and recommendations for using Drive, Docs, Forms, Google+ and Sheets. Specific examples on getting and using Google and third-party apps for anatomy/biology, diagrams/flowcharts, telling stories, and web design. Opportunities to share best practices and ideas.
2. Thursday, July 30 – 8:30am – 10:00am: “A Few of Our Favorite Things” Room 110
DESCRIPTION
Instructional designers cover some of the favorite Google Apps for Education use as well as other handy Google apps. Favorites are broken into groups. After some materials are presented attendees will have the opportunity to share their favorites in a small group setting.
Attendees do not have to do anything prior to attending but are encouraged to bring examples, links to resources, or lesson plans to share best practices and success stories with the group.
As time allows there will be both a Q&A and a round robin at the end where everyone can discuss how a few non-ed specific apps could be used in the classroom or to ‘up your efficiency.’
