I don’t own a motorbike: https://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.asp?t=1216528 – so getting data via a OBD2 Data Recorder isn’t interesting to me.
Since I need to improve/refresh my programming skills, I could use it for PHP or Python. Ruby is on the way down the list {TIOBE programming list https://www.tiobe.com/index.php/content/paperinfo/tpci/index.html } The TIOBE list tracks Turing complete programming languages which have a Wikipedia entry.

- TV – better already have one of these
- HDMI cable

- USB Keyboard & Mouse – got this
- Internet cable – should already have that too
- Micro USB Power Supply (700mA at 5V or higher)
- Custom case from The Daily Brick (https://www.thedailybrick.co.uk/lego-sets/custom/lego-custom-raspberry-pi-case.html) $21.20 … I don’t recommend it
Got to say: https://elinux.org/RPi_SD_cards – loved it! This has a huge list of which SD cards worked on what platform, etc.
1. Install Raspbian (download zip file, unzip into an image file)
2. Prep your SD card
3. Hook up your Raspberry Pi
WINDOWS Win32 Disk Imager or RPIST
or use the dd command from your terminal window
Insert SD to Raspberry Pi, connect your HDMI or analog
Ethernet to your router
